Originator
The Power Markets team is responsible for originating and structuring power market sales agreements across Taaleri Energia’s European investment portfolio. The team identifies and sources new power sales opportunities, ensures access to high‑quality market forecasts, conducts market analyses, manages relationships with off‑taker counterparties, structures and negotiates agreements, and supports making investments and executing divestments. The team works closely with investment, technical, commercial and legal colleagues and plays an active role in negotiations, due diligence processes and the development of strategic power market insights across multiple geographies.
The Originator will focus on establishing, maintaining and expanding relationships with potential and existing counterparties, participating in tenders and negotiating agreements across Europe. The role involves regular interaction with industry stakeholders and international travel to meet counterparties and attend events and conferences.
This permanent position can be based in Helsinki, Oulu or Budapest. The successful candidate will report to the Director, Power Markets, and collaborate closely with the wider Taaleri Energia team.
What you will be doing:
Supporting Taaleri Energia’s European investments on power-market-related matters
Identifying and engaging potential counterparties through market surveys, outreach, meetings and conferences
Selling power and negotiating sales agreements
Participating in relevant PPA tenders and preparing proposals
Coordinating counterparty due diligence processes
Attending relevant power market events and conferences
Monitoring and reporting market intelligence
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience in origination, commodity trading, consulting or a related field
A degree in economics, business, finance or engineering
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
A systematic and analytical approach to work
Strong understanding of power markets across multiple jurisdictions, PPA structures and industry standard agreements
Ability to analyse different PPA structures
Experience in tenders, negotiations and drafting long form agreements
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with counterparties, colleagues and service providers
Proactive, enthusiastic and positive mindset
Willingness to travel
Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage
